This painting will support the beginning launch of Murals for Community in its mission to bring support, hope and care to community through providing murals in spaces where people gather to heal, grow and connect.

The paintings creation:

This painting is one of my favorites I’ve ever made. It brings me so much joy and a feeling of refresh to be with it. It gives me hope and power to believe that everyday is new and an opportunity to create something important.

It was started at a group Artshow, with a gallery filled with blank canvases. The idea was to paint our canvases and then have another show with all of them finished. Circumstances made it to where We never got to have that second show, but this painting that was started there has given me so much throughout my life. It’s become one of my most valuable and meaningful paintings to me.

And now I want to send it off to give so much to so many more people.

It started with fireworks, and blossomed into dandelions. I’ve always felt amazement with both, they make me feel like anything is possible, to see giant colors bursting in the sky, to make thousands of wishes on all the dandelions I’ve found throughout life.

To have started that painting with so many other incredible artists that I look up to felt important, like I was supported and launching into my future of art that I had no idea would be so incredibly powerful and important.

My dreams and creative ideas have always been huge and abundant. I have sometimes struggled with the amount of them, not being able to make them all come to reality. Had to learn how to give myself grace for that. To not stop dreaming up beautiful ideas just because I can’t do them all or make mistakes along the way. That I would learn how to bring some of them fully to life, and that it would be worth all the effort and lessons along the way.

The mission it is now supporting:

I’ve decided to really tune into and fully develop a big dream. One I’ve had for a long time.

It’s a dream to bring murals to support centers that are helping community heal and grow while they create the path they want in life.

Murals in my experience really have an impact on the energy and experience that people have while they are there in that space. Especially when they are healing and going through a hard time. A blank gray wall is totally different to sit in front of than a wall full of hope for community and growth and words reminding us that we CAN do it. We can heal and we don’t have to go through it alone.

One of the most important parts of this mural dream is to bring it to places that really need it and can’t have it because of finances. Money can stand in the way of so many important supportive things. I want to create a solution for that in the world of murals being available in places where people could really immensely benefit from it in a healing way. This is where the nonprofit comes in. By receiving grants and sponsor support we can offer these murals to selected locations for free 💗

This journey has been started and “Murals for Community” is officially incorporated! We will next file for tax exempt status and then be on our way to launching this nonprofit and beginning our first murals at locations supporting community!

I’m working on the website and all of the business startup. I am sharing this for the first time publicly on this post of “fireworks to wishes” because this painting is full of hope for wishes to be created into reality. The perfect opportunity to invite in the sale of this artwork to launch supporting this new adventure. I’ve set the selling price of this painting at a high price. This is because buying this painting is more than just buying this painting. It’s supporting this dream we’re building. The sale from this artwork would exponentially launch me into being able to dive into this project full time as well as cover the startup fees which I am currently having to raise out of pocket- to get our filings in so we can begin accepting sponsors and donations at tax exempt status, set up insurance, start getting supplies and meeting with locations and community who would benefit from this contribution in the communities healing journey.

Some of the spaces envisioned are youth and adult healing centers, rehabilitation centers, recovery centers, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, foster care support centers, community spaces supporting life transitions or hardship, community youth recreational centers, public schools, free daycare centers, and more. The idea is to bring these murals to places that are giving their funding and time to the people, and so a mural isn’t in budget, but it really could make an incredibly healing impact for the people there.
